Texarkana woman arrested in deadly stabbing of boyfriend

TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) - Texarkana, Arkansas police say an overnight stabbing that left one man dead was the result of a domestic dispute.

Police say 35-year-old Sherry Woods allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, 40-year-old Jeffrey Baker, during an argument.

On Wednesday around 11 p.m., police say they were called to the intersection of East 10th and California Streets for reports of a stabbing.

When they arrived on the scene, they found Baker lying on the ground bleeding heavily.

After being taken to the hospital, Baker died as a result of his injuries.

Police say their investigation revealed that Baker and Woods were arguing when it turned physical near Woods' home on California Street, and ended with Woods allegedly stabbing Baker with a knife.

Woods was arrested and charged with 1st degree battery. The Prosecuting Attorney's Office is reviewing the case and police say additional charges will be based on that review.
