LOUISIANA (KSLA) - A former Caddo commissioner is now incarcerated in the United States Penitentary (USP) in Polluck, Louisiana.
The facility is a high-security federal prison, with an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum-security male offenders.
Williams was found guilty earlier this year on 11 counts of wire fraud for defrauding the Caddo Parish Commission and stealing more than $8,000 from a non-profit meant to help at-risk youth.
In July, Williams was sentenced to 14 months in federal prison. But in August, he was granted a one month reprieve before having to report to prison.
Court records show Williams filed for yet another extension on Sept. 21, requesting that he surrender on Oct. 24. However, that request was denied.
Williams ultimately surrendered on Monday, Sept. 26.
Williams also filed a notice of appeal on Aug. 9.
