DIXIE INN, LA (KSLA) - Authorities today found a Minden area woman dead in her vehicle just west of Dixie Inn.
Ginger McDade McEachern, 67, had been missing since Sept. 7.
This afternoon, she was found behind the wheel of her 2016 Ford Fusion.
"They are just good people," Webster sheriff's Chief Deputy Bobby Igo said of the woman who is survived by a daughter. "It's just a horrible, tragic event."
McEachern apparently was driving east on U.S. Highway 80 when her vehicle left the roadway at the McIntyre overpass, the chief deputy said.
"She probably had been there since Wednesday morning sometime."
The wrecked car is difficult to spot from the highway, Igo said. It was discovered today while authorities were conducting an aerial search in a helicopter loaned by the DeSoto sheriff's office.
"There is absolutely no foul play, nothing of that nature," Igo said of McEachern's death.
An autopsy will be needed to determine the exact cause.
"We don't know if it was medical. We don't know if it was because of the crash."
