BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help with identifying three people who allegedly stole a cell phone at a Haughton gas station.

Bossier deputies were called to the Circle K on Highway 80 and Chandler Road in Haughton around 10:30 p.m. back on August 2 in reference to a stolen cell phone.

The complainant reportedly told deputies that she accidentally left her Samsung cell phone on the counter while purchasing items for her children. She said she was gone for about 30 minutes before realizing she left her phone on the check-out counter at the store.

When she returned to the store, the phone was gone.

Bossier detectives were able to pull surveillance footage from the store which reportedly shows the crime.

Police say the video shows a man and woman approach the counter to make their purchase. That's when deputies say the woman picked up the phone and gave it to another man standing right behind her. The thieves then left the store with a gold Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone that didn't belong to them, deputies said.

The owner of the phone told detectives this is her only means of communicating, and it's important because she was awaiting a call for needed employment.

Anyone with information on the identity of the people responsible is urged to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100.
