Police release new details about carjacking attempt caught on dashcam

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police today released limited descriptions of a couple would-be carjackers recently warded off by a man wielding a high-pressure carwash wand.

The man's dashcam caught the action on video that continues to draw a lot of attention online.

It happened about 2 a.m. July 21 at Oasis on West 70th Street.

After the attack, we reached out to Shreveport police to get a detailed description of the assailants.

Today, authorities say only that they are looking for a male who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs 180 to 220 pounds and another male who stands about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.

Michael Davis previously told KSLA News 12 he was washing his car when he was approached by first one gunman then another, both of whom he forced to flee by turning the power washer on them.

Davis never backed down and never dropped the cigarette out of his mouth; he even smiled at one point during an encounter that would be terrifying for most people, the dashcam video shows.

Now he's hoping the pair will be caught and their criminal careers will be all washed up.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the assault to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit the group's website at lockemup.org
