Traffic stop leads to drug bust in East Texas

MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) - A standard traffic stop led to the arrest of two women in Marshall, Texas this week.

It happened on Tuesday, July 19 just before 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of Poplar Street.

The driver, Lisa Sawyer and passenger Marshal Molina reportedly gave consent for police to search the vehicle.

During their search, officers reportedly found a small container with five plastic bags that looked like methamphetamine in the center console.

A field test confirmed the bags did contain less than 7 grams of methamphetamine.

Sawyer was charged with possession of controlled substance. Molina had two outstanding MPD warrants and charged with possession of controlled substance.
