Another man dies as a result of double shooting in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Another person is dead as a result of a shooting in Shreveport's MLK neighborhood.
Police have identified him as 27-year-old Michael Dillard.
The double shooting happened just before noon Wednesday in the 3300 block of Bond Drive.
That's where Jerry Jackson, 49, of the 3300 block of Bond Drive, is accused of using a long gun to shoot Dillard and Jackson's stepson 25-year-old LaKendrick Brown.
Brown died at the scene. Dillard was taken to University Health in Shreveport, where we've learned he has since died.
Jackson remains in Shreveport City Jail, where he was booked at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday on 1 count each of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
There's no word as yet on whether the latter charge will be upgraded in response to Dillard's death.
Police detained Jackson at the scene of the shootings.
Authorities have said that an ongoing dispute - "some type of argument between the suspect involved in the shooting and at least both victims" - led to the slayings.
Brown's brother Lederick Brown told KSLA News 12 that the two had held grudges in the past but that Brown recently had tried to bury the hatchet.
"They didn't, at first, but they all had squashed their beef. That's it," he said. "My brother, he let it go. Obviously, he didn't."
Dillard's death brings to 25 the number of homicides this year in Shreveport.
