Detective: Suspect in Webster shooting possibly is in Caddo

MINDEN, LA (KSLA) - A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Webster Parish could be in Caddo Parish, a detective says.

Corey Henix, 27, possibly is in Shreveport and is known to drive a maroon or burgundy Nissan Altima, Minden police Lt. Chris Cheatham said.

Henix is wanted in Minden on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Minden police booked his 25-year-old brother Donald Ray Henix, of the 700 block of Sims Street in Minden, into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on the same charge at 8:57 p.m. June 28.

The brothers are suspected of being involved in a shooting as part of an argument June 25 on Bailey Street in Minden that landed 36-year-old Dewey Coleman in University Health in Shreveport.

Police know Coleman, of the 800 block of Harris Street in Minden, was shot more than once but as yet have not learned how many times, Cheatham said.

Sometime before the altercation June 25, Minden police arrested Coleman on 1 count each of disturbing the peace, open container and criminal property damage. That last charge is because he allegedly kicked a door on Donald Ray Henix's car, Cheatham said.

It's all part of an ongoing feud between Donald Ray Henix and Coleman over the fact that Donald Ray Henix is dating the mother of Coleman's child, the detective said.
