SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department and Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office have received two checks from the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office after prosecuting 25 drug and money laundering suspects.

Police say the two checks totaling $150,000 will be used to keep making our community safer.

Sheriff Steve Prator said, "These funds have to be spent and plowed back into drug enforcement and that will be done by both agencies. It's important to know it doesn't go into a slush fund. We use it to continue the fight."

Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw and Caddo D.A. James Stewart were presented the checks at Shreveport Police Headquarters on Friday.
