DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A motorcyclist was arrested by DeSoto Parish Sheriff's deputies after a high-speed chase.
According to authorities, it happened on June 3 around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 84 near Logansport when deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for having no license plate.
Deputies say the vehicle did not stop and eluded deputies while traveling in excess of 100 mph.
The motorcycle reportedly exited Hwy. 84 and continued up Bethel Rd. before crashing.
Deputies say they arrived in time to see the driver stand up and throw a clear plastic baggie.
The driver, identified as, 21-year-old Taylor Crawford, was taken into custody.
Crawford reportedly told deputies he fled because he knew his motorcycle wasn't registered or insured and because he had marijuana in his possession.
Crawford was taken to an area hospital for treatment to his injuries sustained during the crash.
After his release, he was booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on charges of speeding, resisting an officer by flight and possession of schedule I marijuana.
