BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Bossier Parish Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help with finding a man wanted for theft.

Detectives say 45-year-old Danny Ray Shoemaker is wanted for stealing several thousand dollars from a victim who hired him to remodel his home after the recent flooding in March.

Shoemaker uses Craigslist as a means to find customers for his alleged remodeling business and preys on those who have been affected by the recent flooding, according to authorities.

Shoemaker is believed to be driving a white, 1995 Chevy truck with Texas license plate GKX2497. Police say he also claims to be associated with a remodeling company he owns named "Cowboy Remodeling" out of Texas.

Shoemaker is described as a white male who stands about 5'10" tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and blonde or strawberry blonde hair.

Police say Shoemaker also has tattoos on his upper left and right arms. He also has scarring on his face, elbow, nose, right knee and left elbow.

Authorities say Shoemaker is wanted in Texas and Louisiana.

Anyone with information on Shoemaker's whereabouts, or sees the vehicle he is driving, is urged to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100.
