Two suspects face serious charges, accused in an early morning home invasion.
Just after 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Shreveport police were called to a home located in the 900 block of Boulevard Street regarding an alleged home invasion. Witnesses reportedly told officers that two people entered the home and held a victim inside the residence at gunpoint while demanding valuables.
As officers were arriving at the scene, they reportedly spotted a group of three people getting into a car located near the crime scene. Officers say as they approached, two of the passengers inside of the car ran from officers. Police did however, detain the driver of the car, 25-year-old Kimberly Fulton, along with 27-year-old Murrell Hatfield.
Investigators say information and evidence gathered at the scene link both Fulton and Hatfield to the home invasion. Police believe the group of suspects arrived at the home hoping to locate drugs and money. A stolen handgun, believed used during the home invasion was located on scene.
Following their arrest, Hatfield and Fulton were booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Fulton is charged with Principal to Armed Robbery and Home Invasion, while Hatfield is charged with Armed Robbery, Home Invasion, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.
Authorities are still looking for two other suspects who ran from officers.
