CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator has been appointed by Gov. John Bel Edward to the Louisiana Commision on Law Enforcement.

The LCLE is an advisory board for law enforcement throughout the state. The advisory board also oversees training standards for Louisiana police officers.

The commission sets policy, develops programs, and administers federal grant funding to statewide law enforcement and judicial programs. Some programs funded by the LCLE are DARE, the Bullet-Resistance Vest program, and the Crime Victims Reparations Fund.

This is the third appointment to the LCLE for Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator. He also served on the board for Governors Bobby Jindal and Kathleen Blanco.
