NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) - A Natchitoches man was arrested after police say he was trafficking drugs out of a motel room.

Police set up surveillance on 34-year-old Reginald Warren when they suspected he was using a room at a Motel 6 in Natchitoches to distribute illegal narcotics.

Warren was pulled over for a traffic stop on the LA 1 Bypass after leaving the motel. He was arrested for driving under suspension. Police say they found $710 and a Motel 6 room key.

Since Warren was on parole for narcotics charges, parole officers and Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Agents searched the room. Officers say they found a small amount of suspected marijuana, promethazine syrup, a digital scale and 4.7 ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine. The street value of the crystal methamphetamine seized is estimated at $13,000.

Warren was taken to Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and his charges include possession of marijuana, probation violations, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal window tint and driving under suspension.
