SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man is fighting for his life after being shot multiple times in his upper body while diving for cover during a home invasion in Shreveport's Cedar Grove neighborhood.

The wounded man has been identified as 29-year-old Christopher Clarkson, who's listed in critical condition at University Health.

Preliminary reports say a man wearing black and armed with a long gun entered a house in the 7500 block of Altus Street about 9:57 p.m. Wednesday and started shooting in an attempt to rob Clarkson.

Police believe Clarkson tried to drive himself to the hospital after the gunman ran away. Responding officers found Clarkson in the 7100 block of Creswell Road. That's less than a half mile from where the shooting occurred.

Evidence in the Altus Street leads investigators to believe there might be a second shooting victim. None has been found as of this time.

No arrest has been made.

Police did detain a woman who was inside the house for questioning about the shooting.

Authorities urge anyone with any information to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers by calling (318) 673-7373 or visiting the group's website
