BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - An East Texas man was arrested after a traffic stop led to an alleged drug bust.
Just after 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, a Bowie County deputy was traveling northbound on Buchanan Rd. in the center turn lane waiting to turn onto Loop 151.
That's when deputies say a maroon Lexus traveling southbound on Buchanan Rd. stopped when it was unnecessary. According to Bowie County deputies, the vehicle remained stopped for a while before turning.
The deputy believed it to be suspicious and and followed the Lexus. After running the vehicle's license plate, deputies learned the vehicle had been reported stolen and conducted a traffic stop in the 4100 block of South Lake Dr.
The driver, identified as Davian Ramond Stiger, was taken into custody.
A search of the stolen vehicle revealed a rifle, 18 pills, a bag of suspected marijuana and 97 grams of methamphetamine, according to deputies.
Stiger was booked into the Bi-State Jail where he's charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana.
His bond was set at a total of $103,000.
