HOWARD COUNTY, AR (KSLA) - A man is facing charges after a Howard County, AR deputy found drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon.

Police say 62-year-old Jerry "Tex" Brown was pulled over around 4:30 p.m. on Collins Road in the Sand Hill area of Howard County.

Brown emptied his pockets and pulled out a metal pill container with drugs inside, according to deputies. There were reportedly 7 small plastic bags with suspected methamphetamine. Deputies say each bag had a hand written number on them to indicate the amount in each bag.

Brown was arrested and taken to jail for possession of controlled substance with purpose to deliver. The charge is a felony and no bond has been set at this time.

Brown's vehicle was seized and is being held at the Sheriff's Office impound lot.
