Man killed in north Shreveport crash identified
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police are investigating a two vehicle crash that left one man dead Saturday night.
It happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Hilry Huckaby III Highway, about a half-mile south of Russell Road in north Shreveport.
Police say 23-year-old Kendrick Dwayne Diggs of the 4500 block of Bethume Drive was driving a white 2000 Acura TL. Crash investigators say Diggs crashed head on with a black 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, driven by 26-year-old Stephen Brasher of Shreveport.
The drivers were sent to University Health Hospital with serious injuries. According to police, Diggs died en route to the hospital.
Crash investigators believe the Acura was headed south on Hilry Huckaby III Highway, when Diggs lost control of the vehicle. The Acura went into the northbound lane, crashing into the Sonic driven by Brasher.
Police say a toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
Diggs will be autopsied by the LSU Medical School Department of Pathology.
