BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A piece of construction equipment and some nearby trees caught fire Friday morning in a wooded area in Bossier Parish.

Bossier sheriff's deputies say a John Deere wood shearer was totally damaged in a fire that happened in the 5700 block of Highway 80.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the area west of Highway 157.

The wood shearer, valued at about $220,000, was used to clear timber in the area.

Deputies say the cause of the fire was likely a wiring malfunction.
