BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - One Benton family presented the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office with Valentine's Day gift bags to show their support for law enforcement.

Tanya Thomas and her 10-year-old son, Christopher gave a dozen gift bags to Bossier Sheriff Whittington Friday afternoon.

The gift bags were handed to Bossier Sheriff Whittington and Chief David Miller in appreciation in keeping Tanya and her family safe.

Tanya's daughter Lisa and her son Christopher are part of the Bossier Sheriff's Young Marines program.

"This kind of appreciation just about leaves you speechless," said Sheriff Whittington. "Our deputies strive to be courteous, professional and responsive in their service to our residents. This gesture by the Thomas family to show their appreciation goes such a long way – thank you!"
