Couple wanted in abductions, bank robberies will not fight extradition

PINAL CO, AZ (KSLA) - The Shreveport couple wanted for child abduction and robbery captured in Arizona over the weekend soon will be heading back to Louisiana to face charges.

Keith Rogers, 34, and 28-year-old Antonette Wong have been held in Pinal County, Ariz., since their arrest during a traffic stop Saturday night in Casa Grande, which is some 1,200 miles from Shreveport.

The couple are linked to at least 3 bank robberies in Shreveport-Bossier City after allegedly taking Wong's boys from their homes at gunpoint Jan. 12.

The boys, half-brothers Elijah Wong, 2, and Donnie Simmons, 7, were taken into protective custody by the Arizona Department of Child Safety and returned to Shreveport on Thursday night in an emotional reunion with their families at Shreveport Regional Airport.

Both Rogers and Wong waived their right to fight extradition at a hearing Friday morning.

It now will be up to the Caddo sheriff's office to bring the fugitives back to Shreveport. Due to the long holiday weekend, it's not yet known exactly when that will happen.

Meantime, Shreveport police investigators have obtained a warrant to arrest warrant Wong on additional charges of accessory after the fact in connection with at least 2 local bank robberies. She will be jailed on the outstanding warrant upon her extradition back to Caddo, Shreveport police Cpl. Marcus Hines said.
