PLAIN DEALING, LA (KSLA) - An ArkLaTex grandmother is pleading for answers after a missing persons investigation continues for her grandson, Senior Airman Keifer Huhman.
The 21-year-old was declared missing on Monday after he didn't show up to work at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Huhman has family ties throughout the ArkLaTex and family members reached out to KSLA News 12 desperate for answers.
Nancy Smith has been clutching a tissue and wiping tears since learning that her oldest grandson Keifer Huhman was missing.
"The last any of his friends saw him was Sunday at 4:44 their time," recalls Smith.
The airman was last seen at his apartment complex near Dover Air Force base in Delaware.
Red flags went up when Huhman didn't show up for work on the base.
"His commander said he was a hard worker, and that he came to work on time," said Smith, making his mysterious disappearance all the more disturbing.
Smith believes her grandson would have reached out to her if he could.
Huhman's 1997 Ford Ranger is missing, and investigators say his Delaware apartment was ransacked. Smith says his credit cards haven't been used and he hasn't used his cell phone in days.
"He's very special, and someone out there has to know something," said Smith.
Though Huhman doesn't live in the same state, thousands of miles away here in the Arklatex a grandmother is torn to pieces and filled with questions
"My heart is just breaking," she begs, if anyone knows anything about the disappearance of Keifer Huhman, to please speak up and help put her mind at ease.
Anyone with information concerning Airman Huhman's whereabouts is urged to call the Dover Air Force Base at 302-677-6664 or the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.
