BROKEN BOW, OK (KSLA) - A McCurtain County Oklahoma minister is recovering in the hospital after police say he was beaten and dragged by 2 men.

McCurtain County Sheriff Scott McClain said Tuesday that 23-year-old Bryan Duncan and 21-year-old Konnor Mitchell are locked up in the county jail on charges of aggravated assault and battery.

Bond has not been set.

The sheriff said the two men got in a confrontation with 74-year-old Willard Jackson in the Oakhill community near Broken Bow  on Saturday afternoon. During that encounter, McClain says Jackson was dragged by the car the men were in. Sheriff McClain said when the vehicle stopped, the men got out and physically beat the retired preacher.

Investigators are not saying what prompted the confrontation between the three men.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Jackson was listed in stable condition at Christus St.Michael Hospital in Texarkana.
