SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have released video from surveillance cameras in an east Shreveport business that was robbed less than a week ago.

A male brandishing a chrome handgun robbed a tobacco store on Line Avenue between Dalzell and Boulevard streets the afternoon of Jan. 21.

Police got the alarm at 1:52 p.m. that date summoning them to Discount Tobacco in the 2300 block of Line Avenue, Caddo 911 dispatch records showed. The video excerpts show the gunman entering the store about 1:37 p.m.

The excerpts also show the robber slipping behind the counter then hovering behind the clerk while forcing the employee to unload the cash register drawer. Not seen on the video is the clerk being restrained with a Zip tie.

About 2 minutes after entering the store, the video excerpts show, the robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, triggering a manhunt in the immediate area of the store.

The gunman was described as standing about 6 feet tall and wearing black pants and a black hoodie.

Police ask anyone who can help identify the male in the video and anyone with information about the holdup to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit the group's website, lockemup.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $500 for information leading to an arrest.
