OIL CITY, LA (KSLA) - A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a convenience store robbery in Oil City.

Johnny Tyrone Cooper is being held in Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of armed robbery with a firearm. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Oil City police officers and Caddo sheriff's deputies apprehended Cooper about 3 p.m. Friday near Main Street in Oil City.

The holdup happened at 2:27 a.m. Thursday at EZ Mart in the 2800 block of Louisiana Highway 1.

Two adult males reportedly took some cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported.

Oil City police and Caddo sheriff's K9 units found several pieces of clothing nearby that are believed to have been used in the robbery.

The sheriff's office has released photos gleaned from store surveillance video in hopes of identifying and apprehending the other person involved.
