Car catches fire behind Shreveport home

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A family with at least 3 small children was woken up Monday morning when a car behind their home in Shreveport caught fire.

Shreveport Fire Department crews were sent to the 3100 block of Ashton near Alabama Avenue around 5:34 a.m.

Firefighters say a car behind a house caught fire.

The family was inside the house at the time of the fire. They were briefly evacuated, but the home was not damaged.

Fire crews say the fire was under control in about 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire in unknown at this time.
