NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) - An Alabama fugitive is behind bars after he was arrested by Natchitoches Parish sheriff's deputies during a traffic stop Friday evening.
Sheriff's deputies say at around 7:17 p.m. they pulled over 30-year-old Rio Koen of Loxley, Ala., for allegedly going 88 mph in a 75 mph speed zone on Interstate 49 just south of Natchitoches.
After checking the national crime information center wanted person file, deputies discovered Koen had been wanted since October 2015 by the Baldwin County sheriff's office in Alabama on a charge of dangerous drugs.
NPSO Communications confirmed that there was a warrant and he was arrested without incident.
Koen was charged with being a fugitive and cited for speeding.
He is currently in Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting extradition to Alabama.
