WASKOM, TX (KSLA) - A DeBerry, Texas, woman is behind bars, accused in the slaying of a man whose body was found in his Waskom, Texas, home Saturday afternoon.

Police say 25-year-old Marilyn Marche Kirkland, of 56277 Highway 79 North, was booked into the Harrison County Jail Thursday morning after police took her into custody Wednesday night on a warrant charging her with murder.

Bond has been set at $1 million.

Clinton Wayne Saizon, 36, was found dead just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday in his mobile home in the 800 block of North Hearne Street.

Police say Saizon died of a single gunshot wound; an autopsy confirmed it was not self-inflicted.

Waskom Police Chief Westy Meisenheimer confirms the two knew each other, but it is unknown at this point for how long. Few additional details surrounding the circumstances of the killing have been released.
