TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) - The man accused of raping, kidnapping, robbing a woman on Nov. 22 before stealing her vehicle is now in police custody.
According to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, 21-year-old Vasquez Hayes was arrested Monday and charged with 2 counts of rape, 1 count of kidnapping, 1 count of aggravated robbery, 1 count of aggravated burglary and 1 count of theft of property over $5,000.
Police say Hayes forced his way into the home of a Texarkana resident and at gunpoint, allegedly forced sexual intercourse with the victim. Hayes then allegedly forced the victim to drive him to an ATM where money was withdrawn before he stole the victim's car.
The woman ran to a nearby residence and called 911. Her car was later found abandoned in the parking lot of Links Apartments.
Authorities say no further arrests are anticipated in the case.
The crime remains under investigation.
