Shreveport man accused of killing girlfriend waives extradition

HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - The man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend Friday is being extradited to Caddo Parish Monday evening.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, an extradition hearing was held Monday morning with Harrison County Justice of the Peace Nancy George where 28-year-old Brett Wayne Burnley reportedly waived extradition.

Burnley is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Brittany Leann Green in the 2700 block of Wisteria Street on Nov. 27 during a domestic dispute.

Burnley then reportedly left the scene. He was later picked up by Harrison County, Texas deputies just before 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 in the 7000 block of FM Road 134 in Karnack, Texas.

Once he is brought back to Shreveport, Burnley will be booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of second degree murder. Bond in the matter is set at $500,000.

Green leaves behind a 5-year-old son, Aiden.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home in Shreveport. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.

Her parents have set up the "Burying Brittany Green" GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.
