Warrant issued for suspect in Family Dollar attempted robbery

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who they say is responsible for the attempted robbery of a discount store last week.

The crime happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Family Dollar in the 2600 block of Hollywood Ave.

Preliminary reports suggest that a man, armed with a handgun, used a bandana to cover his face as he entered the store through the front entrance. Once inside the business, the suspect reportedly pointed the gun at people inside the store but fled the scene moments later empty handed.

According to police, surveillance video from the store revealed the suspect as being 23-year-old Bobby Lynn Mitchell.

Investigators have issued an arrest warrant charging Mitchell with attempted armed robbery with a bond set at $150,000.
