BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - One of the 2 people involved in a head-on crash on Benton Rd. in Bossier City Monday afternoon remains in critical condition.

It happened just after 1 p.m. in the 2500 block of Benton Rd., where witnesses say a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck towing a small utility trailer was heading southbound when it crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic hitting a Toyota Corolla head-on.

The driver of the Corolla has been identified as 44-year-old Stephanie Hayes Burt of Benton. The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 22-year-old Cory Michael Barnhill of Princeton.

As of Tuesday morning, Barnhill was upgraded to fair condition and is recovering. Burt remains in critical condition

Both drivers were the only occupants in either vehicle. They were both taken to University Health in Shreveport.

Bossier City police say they are investigating the cause of the crash.
