Woman shot in Queensborough, suspect in custody

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A woman is recovering after being shot in the Queensborough neighborhood Tuesday night.

It happened just before 9 p.m. in the 2900 block of Boss St., where JW Hines,61, reportedly got into a fight with 40-year-old Kenya Watson.

During the fight, police say Watson pulled a gun and her mother, 55-year-old Karen Watson, tried to break the fight up.

During the struggle between Karen and Hines, a bullet grazed Karen.

Police caught up with Hines on West Caperton St., he was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated battery.

Kenya Watson was also arrested for simple battery, for her alleged attack on Hines.

Karen was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok.
