HAUGHTON, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man was indicted Monday for the murder of a Haughton woman.
The Bossier Parish grand jury indicted 34-year-old Nathaniel Allen Mingo for the second degree murder of 33-year-old Amanda Collins.
Back on March 15, sheriff's deputies were called to a pasture near the 4500 block of Highway 157 on reports that a truck was parked on the property and a woman was inside. When deputies arrived, they found Collins' body inside a 2014 maroon Ford F-250 truck. Investigators say Collins suffered from a single gunshot wound although the Bossier Parish Coroner has yet to release the exact cause of death. Authorities say the truck was reported stolen out of Mississippi.
Later that same night, Bossier investigators got a warrant for the arrest of Mingo, who police say has a lengthy criminal history that includes charges for various drug possessions, multiple times of resisting an officer, aggravated escape and more.
The next day, Mingo was taken into custody following a brief struggle in West Shreveport.
He is being held in the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on a $2 million bond.
