A man has been shot and killed in Texarkana, Texas.

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) - Texarkana, Texas police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting Thursday morning and the person they believe is responsible.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. near the intersection of West 16th Street and Crockett Street. Police arrived to the 2000 block of West 16th Street to find 32-year-old Stacy Darrell Vaughn of Texarkana, Texas lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Joshua D. Ray of Texarkana, Texas, reportedly fled the scene on foot. Officers located Ray a short time later in the 1800 block of Bowie Street. He was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with criminal homicide.

Two semi-automatic handguns were found at the scene. The shooting remains under investigation.
