Victims identified in Sabine Parish fatal wreck

Two vehicle accident kills one person, injures another in Sabine Parish

FLORIEN, LA (KSLA) - One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a two vehicle wreck in Sabine Parish Saturday night.

According to State Police, it happened on Highway 118, about 4 miles east of the village of Florien. State police were called at 11:40 p.m. Saturday night after a 2010 GMC Sierra driven by  16-year-old Kelby Pilcher, reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 18-year-old Michael Fair.

Authorities say Pilcher was wearing his seat belt but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fair was also wearing his seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Sabine Medical Center.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
