HOPE, AR (KSLA) - Hempstead County deputies are investigating shooting that left one person injured.

It happened just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Highway 174 South.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they learned 24-year-old Joseph (Joey) Hardman was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right forearm. Hardman reportedly told authorities he was helping a friend install audio equipment in the friend's truck. According to Hardman and witnesses, Hardman was in the front passenger seat of the truck when a 33-year-old Carrie Carson Harris pulled into the drive way, went to the passenger side of the truck, started yelling at Hardman then shot Hardman with a handgun.

Witnesses reportedly told officers that Harris left in a gray or silver colored sedan.

Hardman was transported to a Texarkana hospital for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Harris turned herself in at the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office. She was later booked into jail on second degree battery charges.
