CAMPTI, LA (KSLA) - Natchitoches Parish authorities have confirmed with KSLA News 12 that a man was killed in a paper mill accident.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday at the International Paper Red River Mill in Campti.
Deputies say 42-year-old David Scott Long was on the scaffolding crew when his harness became tangled in the machine and he fell in.
This is the second death at the paper mill this year. In January, 57-year-old Philip Whitehead of Winfield fell 15 feet, suffering serious injuries. He was airlifted to University Health where he later died.
The incident remains under investigation.
