SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of molesting several boys over a 30-year period.

Assistant Caddo Parish District Attorney Geya Prudhomme said 60-year-old Willie Johnson was sentenced on Thursday to a total of 80 years of hard labor after being convicted of three counts of molestation of a juvenile and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Prudhomme said Johnson would pretend to be an AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) coach and lure the young boys to his home where he would rape them. He is suspected of raping more than 27 boys over a 30-year period.

Prudhomme said her office originally charged Johnson with six counts of molestation, but only four victims were willing to testify in court. She said of the four male victims who took the stand, two were adults and two were juveniles, which spoke to length of time between sexual assaults. All of the victims were juveniles when the molestation occurred.

A breakdown of Johnson's prison sentence is as follows: 30 years for one count of molestation of a juvenile, 30 years for one count of molestation of a juvenile, 15 years for one count of molestation of a juvenile and five years for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
