ATLANTA, TX (KSLA) - A teenaged boy is charged with the shooting death of a teenaged girl in Atlanta, Texas on Monday.
According to Atlanta police, the boy called 911 just before 2 p.m. and told them there had been a shooting.
Officers arrived to find the girl who had been shot, and the boy they say is responsible.
Since they are both juveniles, no names will be released. Both are said to be in their teens.
The girl was take to CHRISTUS St. Michael's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after 3 p.m.
An autopsy has been ordered, and police are still investigating.
The boy was taken into custody and charged with criminal negligent homicide. He has been taken to a Longview detention center.
