CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Caddo Parish hazmat crews are on the scene of a crude oil spill in Mooringsport that flowed into a nearby creek.
The spill happened at 11:45 a.m. Monday on Old Mooringsport Latex Road. Deputies say a pipeline ruptured. The break was detected by Mid-Valley Pipeline employees.
Louisiana State Police say the spill was contained Monday. About 4,000 gallons spilled.
Hazmat crews are using oil booms to contain and clean up the spill. It is not yet known how long the cleanup will take.
No injuries were reported, and deputies do not believe oil flowed into Caddo Lake. The cause remains under investigation.
