SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have arrested one woman they say is linked to multiple meth labs found Thursday morning at the Sam's Town Casino and Hotel.

Dawn Meredith, 30 of the 2000 block of Oakley Street in Bossier City, has been charged with simple property damage and the creation/operation of a clandestine laboratory.

Shreveport narcotics detectives were called to the casino in the morning to investigate a fire that may have been started by possible drug activity. They determined that a fire alarm was activated on the 14th floor due to smoke from the suspects cooking meth in their room, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.

Agents found an old meth lab inside the suspects' room, and two active labs and components for making meth hidden in an air conditioning vent, said the CPSO.

The call from the hotel on Clyde Fant Parkway came in about 9:50 a.m. A male suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and police are working to obtain a warrant for his arrest, said Sgt. Bill Goodin.

No one was evacuated from the hotel, but the room where police found the lab and a couple of nearby rooms were cleared out. A crew was called in to clean up crew the scene after evidence was collected.
