SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police are investigating the shooting of two men early Wednesday morning as they were traveling along I-20.
Police said around 12:30 a.m. a beige SUV was driving on I-20 East between Monkhouse Drive and Jewella Avenue when a maroon Crown Victoria car pulled up and someone inside started firing shots at the SUV.
The victims, Tyreon Woodard, 18 and Christopher Jackson, 19 were traveling west when the shooting happened, police believe.
Investigators think the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the victims and a known male suspect. Police are working to get a warrant for that suspect's arrest. His name has not been released.
Both were shot, and though it's not clear where each was sitting, the man in the front seat was shot in the back while the leg of the man sitting in the backseat was grazed.
The Crown Victoria exited the interstate after the shooting, police said.
The driver of the SUV drove to Willis-Knighton North where Jackson was treated and released. Woodard was taken to University Health Shreveport with potentially life-threatening injuries, though police said he is expected to recover.
