SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A teacher at Northwood High School was arrested by Caddo Sheriff's deputies Thursday for improper behavior with a student.

26-year-old Jared Honea of Shreveport was arrested for indecent behavior with a juvenile following an investigation by Sheriff's Youth Services detectives James Moore and Jared Marshall.

During the investigation, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says it was learned that since January, Honea exchanged several Snapchat messages with a 15-year-old student. In those conversations, he asked for nude photographs of the girl and made inappropriate sexual references. The girl sent him photos of herself in a bra and underwear, according to Moore.

Honea has been employed as a math teacher at the high school for the past year. He previously worked at a local private school.

He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
