Fire in vacant Queensborough house under investigation

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Shreveport Fire Department is investigating a fire that heavily damaged a vacant house in the city's Queensborough neighborhood late Tuesday night.

Firefighters were called to the house in the 2900 block of Jackson Street at 9:50 p.m.

They arrived four minutes later to find heavy smoke and flames coming from all sides of the two-story vacant building.

It took 6 units with 18 firefighters to less than an hour to get the fire under control.   
Fire investigators have determined the fire originated in the center bedroom of the second floor.  

There were no utilities. There were no reported injuries. Assistant to the Fire Chief Fred Sanders says the exact cause of this fire is suspicious and remains under investigation.
