2 teens arrested in armed robbery of Bossier City Subway
BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - Bossier City police have identified the 2 teenagers arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a Bossier City restaurant Monday night.
Bossier City police officers responded to a hold up alarm at the Subway restaurant in the 100 block of Benton Spur at around 8:30 p.m., they say witnesses told them one suspect walked into the restaurant and demanded money from a cashier before leaving the scene in a Ford Expedition with others inside the vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to Bossier City Public Information Officer Mark Natale, 2 Bossier City officers on patrol nearby at the time of the robbery saw the call come over the computer inside their cruiser and immediately responded. The officers arrived just minutes after the suspects had left the scene and were given a description of their vehicle and direction of travel by witnesses.
The officers relayed that information to other officers over their police radio. Police caught up the suspect vehicle just a few minutes later at the intersection of East Texas Street and Airline Drive and initiated a traffic stop.
Bethany Kenndall, 18, of Haughton and Brock Benoit, 18, of Bossier City were arrested on charges of armed robbery with a firearm. Two other males were also questioned and later released without charges, after investigators determined that they were not aware that Kendall and Benoit intended to commit the robbery.
Police say Kendall was also charged with a second count of armed robbery with a firearm for holding up the Circle K store in the 4100 block of Airline Drive just before 1 a.m. on Monday.
