SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a body found in a creek in north Shreveport on Sunday afternoon.

Spokesperson Cindy Chadwick says the Caddo Sheriff's Office Marine Unit responded to a call reporting a body found in the water by a fisherman about two feet from the bank in a creek that runs from 12-mile Bayou north of I-220.

The body is that of an unidentified male.

Chadwick says it is not known how long the man had been in the water or the circumstances surrounding how he came to be there.

The body has been turned over to the Caddo Parish Coroner.

The Caddo Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division is researching any cases of missing persons and will investigate the case.
