SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Bossier Sheriff's Deputy was fired Monday after his arrest Sunday morning on a DWI charge.

Jesse Williams, Jr., 48, of the 1100 block of Palmetto Road in Benton, was stopped on traffic violations just before 1:30 a.m. by Louisiana State Police on Hwy. 3 near Benton, according to Bossier Sheriff's Lt. Bill Davis.

When the trooper contacted Williams, deputies say the trooper noticed that Williams appeared intoxicated, having bloodshot eyes, a strong odor of alcohol and poor balance.

Deputies add that Williams also performed poorly on the Standard Field Sobriety Text. The trooper found open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.

Williams was charged with DWI and open container. He was booked at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
