BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - Bossier City Police have arrested a man after files containing child pornography were found on a computer he had dropped off at a local store for maintenance.
Detectives with the Juvenile Unit arrested David Mitcham Conerly, 40, of Bossier City on a warrant charging him with pornography involving juveniles after he turned himself over to police on Monday.
Police say Conerly had taken a laptop computer to the Best Buy Store in the 2600 block of Beene Boulevard earlier this year for maintenance. Store personnel contacted Bossier City Police after noticing that the computer's hard drive contained files of suspected child pornography.
Detectives got a search warrant for Conerly's computer. Police say the findings of a computer forensics investigation conducted by personnel with the Bossier City Marshal's Office assigned to the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force resulted in detectives getting a warrant for Conerly's arrest.
After turning himself in, Conerly was booked into the Bossier City Jail and later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. Bond is set at $35,000.
