SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Several democratic Louisiana lawmakers came together Monday to push Governor Bobby Jindal to support the Supreme Court's ruling on healthcare reform.
Shreveport Representative Barbara Norton and Caddo Commissioner Ken Epperson, Sr. hosted a news conference to support the healthcare reform. Jindal says Louisiana will have no part of the new law. Norton says they hope to convince Jindal to agree with the reform. "We are not in agreement with the governor, the decision that has been made," says Norton. "We're hoping again, we're praying that the governor will understand it's about the people."
Republican Louisiana lawmakers do not support the ruling. The Affordable Care Act now faces a repeal vote on Capitol Hill next week. The repeal would have to be signed by the president.
